Summer 2025 Locations:
Dragon's Eye summer 2025 programs are at:
Freeport High School
30 Holbrook St.
Freeport, ME 04032
Check-in Notes:
Drop off will take place between 8:45 AM and 9 AM
at the front door of the Performing Arts Center potion of Freeport High School.
We are in Room 711, up the stairs and to the left, when entering from the Performing Arts Center. If entering from the main entrance, take a left at the first intersection. Go past the art department until you reach Room 711 on your right.
Families are welcome to visit the room to see our creative work in progress!
If you arrive after 9 AM, text 207-350-5926 and I will send one of the older students to open the door. Please try to arrive before 9 AM as much as possible.
Sign Out Notes:
Sign out will also happen at the Performing Arts Center door of the school.
Please make sure the person doing the pickup brings ID.
If we haven't
met a parent or other adult doing pickup, we will check ID and our
authorization list.
Early pick ups should be arranged in advance.
Text staff when you arrive, and we will meet you at the side door to the school.
Detectives who are 12 and over may check themselves out, if authorizations were signed.
They may also sign out siblings or friends -- so make sure to include this authorization!
An email will work as a last minute written authorization.
Health Requirements:
We ask families to err on the cautious side when a child isn't feeling
well.
Children should stay home rather than spread colds or the flu to
our community.
If a child's illness affects our staff, the program has
to close and families lose adventure time.
So please take this
seriously.
Staff members are fully immunized and boosted from Covid 19.
Water & Lunch: No peanuts or ground nuts or nut butters, please!
Each child should have a water bottle and lunch.
If your child has special dietary needs, please send a healthful morning and afternoon snack.
Fresh fruit is available at each snack.
Please do not send sodas, candy, or gum.
Sneakers:
Children need sneakers for indoor and outdoor games.
A child wearing inappropriate shoes will miss out on the running portion of games.
In summer, sandals like Tevas, with secure ankle straps, covered toes and rubber soles that grip are fine. More fashionable summer footwear is fine, as long as sneakers are available for games.
Do not send a child in flipflops or plastic shoes!
They are not safe
enough for the play we do each day. This footwear will result in a call to a parent or guardian for a delivery of more suitable shoes.
Summer Sunscreen:
Please send sunscreen every day during the summer.
Put your child's name on the container.
Place the sun screen in a Ziploc bag, to avoid messes in the backpack.
Please do not send sprays, because they can kick up allergies for some of us.
The program makes use of indoor and outdoor spaces, when possible. If the sun is too hot or the day is too humid, we will stay indoors and focus on sneaking games that preserve energy and keep our staff and children safe.
The high school is not air conditioned. We will use fans and mist to keep cool.
Medications:
Medications require paperwork. The forms are on the Registration & Contact page.
Adventure Summaries:
A summary of each week's adventure goes on the website. Look for those a week or two after each mystery.
