Star Quilt - Update on Monday, Jan. 15 Mini Quest

Puzzle Quilt and Story Stone for "The Star Quilt"
We'll be celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a story shaped from African American folklore. "The Star Quilt" started as a tale focused on the Underground Railroad, but it took a turn towards the south during the research phase. Must have been all of those bitterly cold winter days ... the flock moved towards warmer climes.

Our project will be a handpainted puzzle quilt, with designs and colors drawn from African mud cloth. These elegant puzzles will be fun, since the quilt can be made and remade by shifting the pieces.

The Dragon's Eye Facebook page has an album of images of the Puzzle Quilt designs in progress. I'll be adding images of the children's work after Monday's adventure. Here is the FB link.

There is still room in this mystery for a few more children! More details about the story are here, and the registration form is here.
